What is this Evaluation Policy?:
Since the release of version 2.50 in January 1997, Hex Workshop has been made available on a trial basis. Hex Workshop v2.50 and later are offered for a 30-day evaluation period with unlimited functionality. After the end of the 30 day period the user is granted an additional 7 days to order and receive delivery of the full version of the product. The full version of Hex Workshop costs $49.95 per machine and a number of different ordering methods are available for your convenience. (Ordering Hex Workshop).
If a longer trial period is required, you may download version 2.54 or 2.20. Hex Workshop v2.54 has a 90-day evaluation period and Hex Workshop v2.20 has an unlimited evaluation period.
Our upgrade policy is fairly simple:
- All minor upgrades are free to users who purchase or previously upgraded
to the current major release.
For example, Hex Workshop v4.1 and v4.2 are free for all Hex Workshop v4.0 customers.
- Major upgrades are offered at a reduce rate to existing customers.
For example, Hex Workshop v1.x, 2.x, and 3.x customers can upgrade to v4.x for only $19.95.
- Complementary upgrades are given to all customers who purchase Hex
Workshop within 6 months of a major release.

What are these Big Endian and Little Endian byte ordering terms?:
Big Endian and Little Endian are terms used to describe the order in which bytes are stored in memory.
In Big Endian byte ordering, the most significant byte is stored first. For example, the decimal number 1,000 would be stored as 0x03E8 and the decimal number 100,000 would be stored as 0x000186A0.
In Little Endian byte ordering, the least significant byte is stored first. For example, the decimal number 1,000 would be stored as 0xE803 and the decimal number 100,000 would be stored as 0xA0860100
You can observe that changing the most significant or first byte of a Big Endian number from 0x03E8 to 0x04E8 (decimal 1,256) causes a more significant change than changing the least significant or first byte of Little Endian number 0xE803 to 0xF803 (decimal 1,016).
Hex Workshop will interpret these decimal values based on the byte ordering environment settings. You can also use the Hex Workshop Byte Flip operation to convert between different byte orderings.
Why does Hex Workshop say my serial number is incorrect?
There are two possible reasons:
- You are trying to enter a Hex Workshop v3.x or older serial number in Hex Workshop v4.x. If you did not purchase Hex Workshop v4.x (or an upgrade to Hex Workshop v4.x), you must purchase an upgrade. Alternatively, you can redownload the version you purchased from our download pages.
- You may be entering your key incorrectly. Please make sure you enter the key exactly as emailed and there are no tabs and spaces before or after the key. If you continue to have a problem, please contact support@bpsoft.com with your order reference number.
I made a typo when entering my registering information, how can I fix it?
In Hex Workshop v3.02 or later, open the Hex Workshop about box by selecting "About Hex Workshop..." from the "Help" menu. Then press Ctrl+Alt+R and re-enter your registration information and key as needed.
How can I change my email address?
