What are the requirements for academic licenses?

BreakPoint Software is pleased to offer academic discounts to support teaching, learning and research in educational environments. Discounts are open to students, professors and computer labs, providing discounted products are not used for commercial purposes.

If you find yourself using our products for commercial purposes, we ask that you respecting our policies by purchasing, or asking your client or employer to purchase a license to use our products, at regular prices.

BreakPoint Software reserves the right to request proof of academic association (e.g. copy of student ID), before, at the time of, or up to 30 days after purchase.

How are products delivered? How long does it take?

All products are delivered electronically.

Upon purchase, customers are emailed a serial number and unlocking key. The unlocking key is used to turn an evaluation version into a non-expiring registered version. Users are also sent download URLs for the latest available version. In most cases, this version will be identical to what you are already using.

If ordering online, customers should receive their serial number and unlocking key within minutes of placing their order. If ordering by check or purchase order shipment is delayed until payment is received.

What is your Upgrade and Maintenance Policy?

New for SIP Workbench and Hex Workshop v6:

Customers purchasing BreakPoint Software products receive a full year of product maintenance upon ordering. Product maintenance entitles customers to all product updates and upgrades and can be extended for 20% of the current retail price, if renewed prior to their maintenance expiration date. BreakPoint Software’s product maintenance agreements are the most cost effective and efficient way for users to ensure that they are operating the most current with Hex Workshop. Maintenance is offered at a 50% savings over the purchase price of a product upgrade.

Updated 12/28/2008: Hex Workshop v5 and earlier offered no-charge major upgrades for users purchasing Hex Workshop within 45 days of a major release.

What is your Evaluation Policy?

All BreakPoint Software products are available on a trial basis. Trial products are fully featured and timeout after 30 days. After the end of the 30 day period the user is granted an additional 5 days to order and receive delivery of the full version of the product.

A registration key is sent via email upon ordering and will unlock your product without requiring an additional software download.

What purchasing options are available?

You can purchase any BreakPoint Software product using one of the following methods:

Credit Card (online, fax, or phone)
EFT (with Invoice)
Wire Transfer (with Invoice)
Check (with Invoice)

For offline ordering (check, invoice, fax or phone), customers must still complete the online ordering process. The ordering process allow customers to select the payment type provides remittance instructions along with an order reference number. The order reference number must be included on any invoices, fax, or referenced when calling in an order.
